The Mission To raise up National Leaders to fulfill the Great Commission in the Peruvian Amazon Basin Ron was born and raised in Peru by American parents serving as Wycliffe Bible Translators to the Bora Indians of northern Peru for nearly 50 years. In 1982 Ron and Annette came to work in Peru with a desire to reach the unreached people along the rivers, deep in the jungles, and follow up the work in Indian groups around the country. After teaching and directing a Bible School for five years, the Lord led them to start a cell group church in Iquitos to train national leaders. The focus is to train leaders who are committed, submitted, and proven; to help reach out to the villages in the jungles and along the headwaters of the Amazon. To increase the effectiveness of the mission they joined AFCM in 1996 and started the Josiah project. They were instrumental in the designing and building the mission boat in the shipyards of Iquitos. The mission boat us now used extensively to develop leaders during outreaches along the rivers. As the work of the Josiah flourished the church grew and mission centers were established to train the leaders all along the rivers and in the jungles. Every three months, intensive Bible training is taken to the leaders in seven mission areas and evangelism is taken to the nearby villages to plant churches and train leaders there. The float plane and the shortwave radio station are now being used to help in developing the leaders and expanding the ministry. A Family Ministry We are committed to missions as a family and provide ample opportunity for the children to work and minister together with us. From a very young age the girls have been involved in drama, evangelism, translation, and youth leadership. This has developed a love for missions in the girls’ hearts and a dream to continue to be missionaries as they grow older. Vision and Goals Plant or see a strong church raised up in every village and group along the headwaters of the Amazon. Train national leaders from each village and Indian group to reach their own people and plant Churches in their communities and those around them. Further develop Mission Centers with key leaders in strategic areas around the region. Help provide them with motors, boats, and equipment needed for evangelism and develop Bible schools and materials for each Mission Center. Reach several known but unreached Indian groups through our national leaders near areas where these people live. To see them provided with the word of God in their own languages.
